Need help want to make our apartment pop yet be sleek & modern, need paint/painting/decor idea's?

Some years back I had a one bedroom condo that was only 600 square feet and had only two windows. I painted all of it the same color to keep the color continuous and not break up an already small space. Because there wasn't a lot of natural light, I wanted a relatively bright color. I went with a buttery yellow that was very cheerful during the day and went to a more golden, warm yellow in the evening with lamp lights. Kept the furnishings fairly neutral with bits of color here and there. It worked quite well.
